The short version
Exterior painting in Batavia, IL covers older brick and frame homes near the river and newer houses farther out. We limewash or paint brick and repaint siding and trim from late April into early October, and paint interiors all year, scheduled from Gilberts.
The Windmill City
Batavia was settled in 1833 and is the oldest city in Kane County, with 26,098 residents at the 2020 census. It lies on the Fox River, mostly in Kane County with a small part in DuPage. In the late 19th century it was home to six windmill manufacturers and became known as The Windmill City, and Fermilab sits just east of the city limits.
Unpainted brick can take limewash for a soft look; brick that has been painted before gets a breathable masonry paint instead.
