The short version
Exterior painting and plaster repair in Glen Ellyn, IL suit a village with many older homes: wood siding, trim and porches outside, plaster walls inside. We paint exteriors from late April into October and interiors all year, and homes built before 1978 get a lead check before scraping.
Chicago's newest suburb in 1892
Glen Ellyn had 28,846 residents at the 2020 census. The name was in use by 1889, when a dam created Lake Ellyn, and the village was incorporated on May 10, 1892, the same year much of its business district burned. Like neighboring Lombard, it grew out of the Babcock's Grove settlement, and its older homes often have plaster walls and original wood trim worth repairing.
Older homes need prep that matches their age: loose plaster reattached and skimmed, soft wood repaired, and lead-safe practices for paint layers that predate 1978.
